Continuing on the discussion of my personal exploration activity, I last left off wondering how to store electricity from a tesla coil into a battery. After researching further on batteries or alternatives to processing the electricity in order to not blow the light bulb. I came to the conclusion to use a capacitor. The capacitor will allow the light bulb to obtain enough energy to power it for 20 minutes without blowing the fuse. The next step is to buy the materials and harness lightning.
Since I am following in his footsteps I learned what Steve LeRoy did during his experiment. When LeRoy conducted his experiment he came to a few conclusions. His initial hypothesis was that one bolt of lightning would produce enough energy to provide a city with power for roughly a year. After his experiment he was able to hold his hypothesis based on the fact that he was able to power a light bulb for 20 minutes with a tesla coil. He was never able to come to a final conclusion because the funds on his project were cut. However I plan to prove whether his hypothesis was truly correct.
