During these 2 weeks, we started to get ready for Battle For The Bluegrass from November 3rd-5th. We plan to add awesome LEDs to our robot and fix our appendages by adding a better "push" for our gearbox to make the gear land on the peg at a more efficient rate and made the space that the gearbox took up significantly less. We changed the gear ratio for our lift so that the gears don’t skip teeth when the robot pulls itself up. We also made a plan to make sure that we get our rope attaches to a specific part of our lift to be able to successfully touch the bottom of the pad for 3 seconds. We built a wooden representation of the pad with a rope climbing up to the top so we can test what was wrong and how to fix it. We also built another wooden representation of the peg so we can test how to efficiently detach the gear off of the robot onto the peg. Programming has added autonomous after numerous errors and failed attempts. Our plan for the LEDs are most likely going to be around the gearbox since we can’t put LEDs around the bumpers of the robot. We plan to leave for Battle For The Bluegrass on Friday, November 3rd at 8 AM from our school, Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park, and drive for about 450 miles and return on Sunday, November 5th at 9 PM.
