As one of my personal goals this year, I wanted us to host the first ever blood drive and hopefully make it an annual thing for the years to come.
We have partnered up with the American Red Cross to make this event a reality. The most beneficial thing about hosting a blood drive and being able to donate is that as little as it may seem, you are saving a life. Whether you may realize it or not, people everyday are in need of blood transfusions. You sit there and eat cookies and drink juice. How bad can it be?
This is a big deal to not only myself and the team, but the school as well. There has not been anything like this ever at HSA. I speak for everyone on the team when I say that we are thrilled to be reaching this milestone for ourselves and on behalf of the HSA community.
As many would imagine, it is quite stressful to set up an event of this magnitude. One of the things that was needed in order to jump start this event, was a list of forty people who would be willing to donate blood. Thankfully, we were able to get over forty volunteers and have now moved on to the next step.
There will definitely be more post on this to come. Wish HOTH good luck!
