As kick off comes closer and closer, we work harder and harder to finish and come up with more goals that positively contribute to this year's conclusion. Community Service, Fundraising, Sponsorship, Outreach, and Media are meeting multiple times a month to evaluate what they need to do for this year and recognize if they have any opportunities at events that pop up to jump on and tackle.
We plan to host an off season FTC event at our school to get our name out into the community to help other teams. This off season FTC competition is an all girl competition, where only girls can interact with the robot, similar to IndyRAGE. We are organizing fundraising events such as concession stands, bake sales and fun activities. Many activities include Christmas Snack Sale where we would sell tasty Christmas treats at lunch and to create puzzle rooms which is a fun puzzle game to test others of their problem solving skills. We plan to get more sponsors, such as Lowes, One North, and Dunkin Donuts to help support our team to keep it active for years to come. We are applying to the Dart Foundation grant which funds youth education in science, technology, engineering and math. Our team plans to go to multiple high school fairs to interest students in attending our high school and joining the FIRST program. Our team has visited Benito Juarez High School and Robot Healy Elementary School to engage students that are interested in the STEM program. Our media team has been up to date with everything we do. They update our followers on Twitter and Instagram with what we do in competitions, outreaches, community services, etc.
As this is happening, each Technical sub team (Electrical, Programming, Chassis, and Appendages) have set up meetings each week before kick off, to help accompany our new recruits to learn about the sub team that they are in and to get familiar with the responsibilities of that sub team. We stay true to accomplishing our goals, getting our name out into the community, helping other teams, hosting events and striving to bring in more recruits. Once on the team, our veterans teach the new recruits about the basics of our team and together they will prolong the longevity of our team.
