People often say, "well David I see you everyday in and out of school working, whether it be robotics or school work. You always seem to be working....why?" My second year I found myself asking that question too. Why put in hours of commitment, tears, and heart into school? Then I started to look back on what I did and how far I have come. In a sense I have worked in a place I would like to call my second home for 3 years now. I have worked with close friends I consider family. This year, my junior year in high school I finally answered that question of why put in hours of work. Yes, partly it is to be seen as hard working and to work toward the future but it also is about doing what you love with people that you love. For me I love engineering and exploring science with my robotics team that I call family.
For people who are just starting something new I would say keep going and keep trying your best. Trying something new is only half the battle, next you must work hard and see it through till the end. Like my mentor and one of my best friends once said "when it's hard to get up in the morning I usually think of the end goal and what I am trying to accomplish. I also think of what I have done and the great things WE have accomplished". We all still have so much to discover and not enough time, so do what you love with people you love and you can never go wrong.
