Recently in our, Leadership in Technology class I gave a presentation about depression and anxiety, While doing this I realized that this is important topic, I want to bring more attention to this subject because it is very important subject matter. This is a problem that doesn't get enough recognition, This is a very common illness someone close to you could be dealing with this. It could be you, a family member, or a friend. There is a stigma behind depression that it is a taboo and shouldn't be talked about. It is almost seen as something is wrong with you if you are going through this. I want people to know that it is okay to speak out and it's okay to need help
In this blog I wanted to address what to do if you do have depression what to do to help you improve and feel better, These things are, surrounding yourself with friends, seek professional help, don't isolate yourself. You should also be on the lookout for people around you exhibiting signs of depression, these are the signs that you should look out for, loss of appetite/energy and motivation, gloomy, and sleeping too much or too little These are just some of the things and some of the signs. Now if the problem gets serious there is a number you can call and talk to someone for free, and this is open 24 hours. The number is 1-800-273-8255.
