Our team is comprised of various ages within the high school ladder. Different ages bring different ideas and they are all welcome here. In most classes, I feel like my answer may not be correct. Therefore, it stops me from partaking in a lot of the class discussion. It’s different within our team. There is no right or wrong answer during our discussions. Every comment someone makes is taken into consideration and is noticed. We learn from one another through our participation and it helps us grow.
When choosing a sub team, you can’t go wrong with any of them. Sure, interest may be the main factor in making your decision, but you never are faced with “will I be able to fit in?” The reason being is because we all carry different and unique personalities. So trust me, you will feel different compared to most, but that’s okay because everyone feels that way. And strangely enough, that is how we all get along with one another. The team gives you the space to be who you truly are and embrace everyone else’s personality. That’s what makes the team so special to me.
It’s not difficult to have inclusion within your robotics team or a particular group of people. My advice is to be accepting of yourself. If you can appreciate your self-worth, I can guarantee that you will be able to find the joyous in everyone else. What are you doing? Start appreciating yourself already.
