It’s time for the annual Midwest Regional! FIRST 5125 Hawks On The Horizon has worked diligently to pack up any necessary materials that our team needs for competition. We packed up the pit to set up at the competition for robot maintenance and to show off our team’s spirit! We gathered all the required technical parts of the robot, such as control systems, drivetrain, mechanisms 1 and 2, and pneumatics, to make a quick-fix if anything goes wrong with the robot and continue with the competition. We have added back our chalkboard to the pit from two years ago and we have pictures that we will share on our social media to show off the artistic side of some FIRST teams! We have also added an Audience Display, a wooden guide for judges and people passing by to show what our team has done for the past 6 years. One thing that we made unique for our Audience Display was that we used engineering to create it! We drew prototypes with measurements and created the Audience Display in Blender. Instead of printing images on a poster full of information about our team, we designed an opening to put a portable device, such as a tablet or a laptop, to display a slideshow where we are not limited to the number of pictures we can show! Other than Engineering Inspiration, three of our members, Evelyn, Eddie, and Carlos, have been rehearsing their Chairman's presentation multiple times and are going to present on March 8th. Wish us luck and we hope all teams are having a great time in competition season!
