This past weekend we hosted a FIRST LEGO League Jr Expo at our school. There were a total of 12 teams that attended this event. I mentored one of these teams. At the end all the kids were having fun and everyone got a medal. It was also cool that members of our team were mentors to the younger students. I felt I learned a lot being a mentor to other students and still being a high school student myself. I feel that what I learned being a mentor can apply to the team in general. I learned patience when it came the FLL Jr student. I also learned that when I was happy and energetic the students were as well. The lesson I learned goes beyond FLL Jr and into our team. Sometimes you may need patience when doing things. You can't expect something big to get done in one day. You have to be passionate and energetic about something because if one person is then it spreads to the others as well. Learning to be a mentor to younger student is something I think that we as team should see is a benefit. I think that everyone should go out and try to mentor a FLL Jr teams near them. The meetings are not that long and there are lessons you can learn.
