Redesigning power cell intake
January 15, 2020
Monday Jan 13th
Today we discussed on the idea of our mechanism intake idea. We realized that if we attempted to hold 5 power cells then one would be sticking out. That would be bad for intaking since we would not have full control of 5 power cells like we wanted to. So we discussed about what a possible mechanism design would look like. We have listed few ideas and are going to discuss them on tuesday with the full mechanism sub team. We also got orange belts so that we can test the intake system and test it with belts other than timing belts and pulleys.
We also discussed that maybe we shouldn't have cut the front of the chassis as we could have used the full bumper to roll the power cells over them and use the bumper as stop.
Control systems worked on updating the computers with the correct software for this season.
We went through our regular full team meeting today and talked about the progress that has happened so far and tech directors updated the Gantt chart and planned the meeting for the week. We talked about starting to CAD a model of new mechanism so that way we can build the real model perfect the first time and flush out any problems that we have.
